A Section 8 company is a non-profit organization (NPO) in India that promotes social welfare, the arts, education, and other objectives: Section 8 companies are established to promote non-profit objectives, such as education, science, sports, and charity.
MAA MATALI MURARI FOUNDATION closely works with the vulnerable communities and empowers the socially marginalized by providing them livelihood linkages, imparting skills leading to employment, health and education facilities. The focus areas of MMMF are livelihoods, skill development, health and education, rights, urban governance, rehabilitation and resettlement and other community development initiatives.
MAA MATALI MURARI FOUNDATION began as a NGO that pioneered in rejuvenating underprivileged slums and vulnerable neighbourhoods into self-sustaining and developed communities by its Integrated Community Development Programme changing the environment of urban slums. MMMF through its one-stop centres provides supports to slum dwellers to obtain government identities, providing them access to public benefit schemes, imparting skills leading to employment, for vital personal consumption
Over the years, MMMF has partnered with various entities β government, corporates, individuals and
other NGO/NPOs for several undertakings of greater good. In the last 10 years MMMF has rendered it services to several slum residents, migrants, minorities, children, women, youth and vulnerable people in, Rajasthan and Maharashtra (Mumbai) and has touched the lives of more than 10 thousand
individuals. As MMMF marches forward with its partners in its journey towards uplifting the marginalized, it keeps on expanding its horizon of the communities it serves. In this journey, MMMF has received several accolades for its programs, internal systems, organizational ethics, best practices in resource mobilization and sustainability models,
MMMF envisions inclusive and empowered communities and individuals.
To make human settlements equitable living environments where all residents and vulnerable people
have access to health, education, essential infrastructure services and livelihood options, irrespective
of their economic and social status.
MMMF engages organizations, corporates and individuals from India and globally as partners and supporters. MMMF initiated the Integrated Community Development Programme, an undertaking that seeks to rejuvenate slums into vibrant neighbourhoods. MMMF works with slum residents, children, women, youth and vulnerable people in urban and rural areas. It addresses multiple needs of the socio-economically vulnerable with one-stop solutions, through which slum residents have access to basic services for holistic growth. MMMF collaborates with the communities, especially the youth to undertake their upliftment programmes. Communities co-invest with MMMF and donors for the program implementation and scaling-up.
By utilizing MMMF 10 years of experience of working with the communities, its market and need
based innovative approach within multiple sectors, by working for their livelihoods, housing (R&R),
financial inclusion, community leadership and education. To be successful at this MMMF will have to
build the capacity of its team members and community leaders, use technology for bringing quality,
cost-effectiveness monitoring, bring accountability, expand its current reach, leverage interlinkages
and bring in more funds by taking new approach and tapping new sources
β Executive Committee (Finance committee) β This is made up of 2 members including Reporting Director , External Auditor, Internal Auditor and 1 external consultants. This committee is an advisory body for all financial management of organization.
β Strategic Management Group β Strategic Management Group monitors programs progress, growth, and development in congruence with the vision and mission of organization and relevance. The committee comprises of Programme Coordinators, Accounts Head, Programme Director, Executive Director and also Community Leaders.
β Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee β This committee is made up of 4 members including 3
members from within the organization and one external member from non-governmental
association. This committee is formed as part of Anti-sexual harassment Policy and as per the
guidelines of βThe Sexual Harassment of at workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal)
Act 2013.
β Fundraising Committee β It is responsible for fundraising and local resource mobilisation.
β Human Resource Committee β It is set up every year and comprises of senior leaders and
community leaders with the Executive Director as the mandatory member. The committee is for
evaluation of performance and appraisal of staff.

Policy Statement
The Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal)
Act, 2013 read along with its Rules of 2013, (the βActβ) states that no employee shall be subject to Sexual Harassment at any Workplace.
Responsibilities & Procedure
Complaint Mechanism and Appeal: Any aggrieved employee himself/herself or alternately, as provided under the Act can:
β File a complaint with the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) within a period of three months from the date of the incident through email, -info@maamatali.com written complaint and or verbal
complaint.
β Request the ICC for settlement of the matter through conciliation; provided such request is made
before the ICC initiates an inquiry under the Act. Appeal: Any person aggrieved from the ICC report,
may prefer an appeal to the Court as prescribed in the Act within a period of ninety days from the date of the ICC report.
Responsibilities of the ICC
The ICC shall: Investigate every formal written complaint of Sexual Harassment. Provide reasonable opportunity to the aggrieved employee and respondent for presenting and defending their respective case before the ICC. Initiate appropriate remedial measures to respond to any substantiated allegations of Sexual Harassment and Complete its inquiry within ninety days of acceptance of the complaint.
The ICC Inquiry Process
The ICC will examine every complaint of Sexual Harassment as per the guidelines prescribed under the Act and ensure that a fair and just investigation is undertaken.
What Action Can the ICC Take
The ICC may, if it deems appropriate, recommend the following actions (not exhaustive):
Written apology; Warning, reprimand, censure; Termination from service; Compensation deduction from the salary or wages of the perpetrator; Withholding of promotion, withholding of pay rise or increments;
Undergoing counselling session or carrying out community service; and/or Initiate appropriate statutory or legal action.
Making False or Malicious Complaints:
Where the ICC arrives at a conclusion that the complaint was made with a malicious intent, the ICC shall take strict disciplinary action against the complainant, which action may be similar to the action taken for committing an act of Sexual Harassment. The ICC shall also take strict disciplinary action on any witness who submits false evidence or produces any forged or misleading document relating to the complaint.
Definitions
What Constitutes Sexual Harassment
Sexual Harassment is any unwelcome and sexually determined act or behaviour (whether directly or by implication) as:
Physical contact and advances; or a demand or request for sexual favours; or making sexually coloured remarks; or showing pornography; or any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of sexual nature; or any of the following circumstances that occur or is present in relation to or connected with any act or behaviour of Sexual Harassment (under (i) to (v) herein above):
Implied or explicit promise of preferential treatment in the employeeβs employment;
or implied or explicit threat of detrimental treatment in the employeeβs employment;
or implied or explicit threat about the employeeβs present or future employment status;
or interference with the employeeβs work or creating an intimidating or offensive
or hostile work environment for the employee; or humiliating treatment likely to affect the employeeβs health or safety.
